The studies last ten semesters. During the first 6 semesters, students follow 34 core and 6 elective courses, which are mainly offered by the other Departments of the University. These courses provide a general agricultural background. During the next 3 semesters, the Department of Food Science and Technology offers a wild range of special courses in the Food Science and Technology that cover the areas of Food Chemistry and Analysis, Food Microbiology and Biotechnology, Food Engineering, Processing and Preservation, Food Quality Control and Hygiene, as well as Dairy Science. Finally, in the 10 th semester, students carry out a project and submit the respective graduate thesis in the field of their own choice, under the supervision of a member of the academic staff. Students graduate with the degree of Agriculturist of the Food Science and Technology Department.
