The Department of Food Science and Technology offers to the students the scientific background for the rational copping with scientific and technological issues in the food area. Furthermore, it promotes the existing knowledge in the Food Science and Technology through research and development programs, in collaboration with other Greek and foreign Universities and Research Institutes, as well as with Research and Development departments of small and big Greek food industries.
The Department of Food Science and Technology aims at:
- Educating scientists to have a solid background in science, technology and economics that will enable them to staff the Food Industry
- Contributing to the development of Food Science and Technology through scientific research and training of researchers
- Sharing scientific knowledge with Food Industries by establishing collaboration projects between the industries and the University
